1. Barron
Canyon
The
Barron Canyon Trail is a 1.5 km long interpretative trail
that passes through pine forest to the rim of a spectacular
100 m deep canyon.

2. Brent
Crater
This
interpretive trail in the northeast corner of Algonquin Park
descends into a 3 km wide crater made by a meteor about 450
million years ago. |
3. Deep
River
A
4 km promenade from the marina along the bank of the Ottawa
River with great views of beaches and the hills across the
river. |
4. Driftwood
Provincial Park
There
are many interlocking trail loops from 1 km to 3.7 km long
in a forested location skirting a bay on the Ottawa River
with picturesque views across to the Laurentian hills in Quebec. |
5. High
Falls
High
Falls is a small waterchute perfect for a picnic and a favourite
spot in Algonquin Park for a swim to cool off in the heat
of summer. This well marked trail through mixed forest is
a pleasant and direct walk to the falls. |
6. Eastern
Pines Trails
The
three stacked loops, of about 4, 5 and 11 km long, start from
the Achray campground in Algonquin Park. They offer scenic
vistas of pine forest and lakes, and end at the pools and
cascades of High Falls. |
7. Mount
Martin - Quebec
After
crossing the Ottawa River at Deep River by boat / canoe river
there is a challenging but picturesque trail to the top of
Mount Martin, in Quebec, which features fabulous birds-eye
views of the Laurentian Hills, the Ottawa River and Valley. |
8. Petawawa
Millennium Trail
This
2.4 km trail offers a pleasant walk along one shore of the
white-water Petawawa River. |
9. Petawawa
Terrace Provincial Nature Reserve
The
Reserve was a fish research facility that has recently been
closed. The trail system is very popular in the area and continues
to be maintained for hiking and cross-country skiing. |
